The Million Car Carbon Campaign helps find different ways in order to save energy and lessen the carbon foot-mark. The Campaign gathers conscious consumers from every corner of the world so that to prevent existing emissions of polluting substances that enter the atmosphere.
Now let’s make an overview of some principal actions to save green and go green. These things will help reduce environmental impact on a person, be happier, healthier and save money.
First of all, it is necessary to save energy in order to save money. If a person is interested in it, he or she can set a thermostat during winter time lower than it was every other winter before. When some appliances are not used it is better to set them “off”. When you are going to wash clothes in a washing machine do it with cold water as 85% of the overall energy is usually spent on heating the water for washing. Dry your clothes yourself without help of a machine; this is also a solution to pay less for energy consumption.
Economization of water is another way to go green. Set a low-flow showerhead, take shorter showers or they can be quite frequent with low consumption of water. Observe your faucet and close it stronger so that there are no drops falling down. Plant your favorite plants in a garden if you have it. They will receive water naturally and you will avoid spending additional water to your plants if situated at home.
Moreover, try to use your car and public busses less. Replace them by bike or just walk. It may take more time but it is more ecological and gas saving. If you are living far consider such an option as telecommuting or move closer to your work.
Furthermore, eat at least one meatless meal a week, as meat is quite expensive these days and one day without meat will not be tragic. Buy locally raised foodstuff, it is of good quality and cheaper than in shops. Try to use water filters to clean tap water, buy less of already bottled water. It is better to borrow a book from libraries because you can’t even imagine how much ink and paper is spent for paper that goes into printing “fresh” books. We should invest in long-lasting and high-quality products. It is a good solution not to replace things often and waste money for it. Many people prefer to prepare their own substances for cleaning various things instead of buying them.
To make a conclusion it is pertinent to say that we should think about earth and possibilities of better and healthier life.
